The Dominican Association of Exporters (Adoexpo), celebrating yesterday the 50th anniversary of its founding, highlighted the potential of the sector, citing that the export volume in this last four-month period of the year totaled US$4.1 billion, a growth of 9.87% compared to January-April 2021 and 31.69% compared to 2019, year.
Santo Domingo – Catholics celebrate today Corpus Christi Day, also known as the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. Formerly called Corpus Domini (Body of the Lord), it is a feast of the Catholic Church to celebrate the Eucharist.
Its primary purpose is to proclaim and increase the faith of Catholics in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, publicly giving him the cult of adoration (latria).
The export volume of tobacco and rum amounted to US$425.39 million between January and April of this year, both products reflecting critical levels of growth in their sales abroad.
In the case of tobacco, an agricultural item with a variety of derived products, from robust cigars to fruit leaves, its exports in the first four months of the year reached US$384.67 million.
