Ex-Zim Cricket Star Keith Dabengwa Appointed Denmark National Team Coach

FORMER Zimbabwe cricket team all-rounder Keith Dabengwa has been appointed head coach of the Denmark national cricket team.

The 41-year-old, who last played in Zimbabwe’s domestic cricket circuit for Tuskers five years ago replaces English coach Ruan Louw.

The Denmark Cricket Association said in a statement that Dabengwa has since begun his duties in preparation for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.

As the Barbados Football Association (BFA) hunts for a new technical director, former national captain and Concacaf coach instructor Renaldo ‘PeeWee’ Gilkes is considering throwing his hat in the ring for the position.

Gilkes, who turns 35 on Monday, told Barbados TODAY it would be a great opportunity if given the chance to lead the technical development of football in the island.

The Barbados Football Association has sent a clear message that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct, after getting rid of a senior male staff member who was accused of misconduct with a player on the senior national women’s football team.   

The situation came to light a few weeks ago when a group of concerned national players signed a petition and also copied the BFA’s top brass to have the sexual allegations against the non-national addressed speedily.

Panic as Osimhen loses consciousness during Serie A match

Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, lost consciousness during Sunday’s Serie A fixture between Atalanta and Napoli.

Osimhen had to be rushed to the hospital but according to Sky Sport Italia, the Napoli striker is now in a stable condition.

Barbados’ exciting teenage forward Thierry Gale registered yet another milestone as he scored on debut recently for Budapest Honved Football Club in the Hungarian Premier League.
