The Health Department says the cholera outbreak seems to be under control for now, after strong interventions. Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla has confirmed that no cholera-related deaths were reported in the country in the last few days. The death toll remains at 24, 23 in Hammanskraal and one in the Free State, with 99 confirmed cholera cases. Phaahla also confirmed that the current outbreak in Gauteng might be linked to people who had travelled out of the country. Two women who had travelled from Malawi, tested positive in February this year.
